The Arizona Cardinals have issued a statement to officially confirm the release of quarterback, Sam Bradford on Saturday, reports say.
Bradford had actually put pen to paper on a deal with Arizona as a free agent in March this year.
And as a result, he received an amount in the region of $10million signing bonus, around $2.5million in base salary.
The player also picked up yet another fee of $1 million in playing-time bonuses for an overall of $13.5 million.
He was very much in line to earn a total sum of $5 million in base salary this year alone.
And that is also while being eligible to pick up a $312,500 roster bonus for every match he featured in.
Bradford also had a further option for the year 2019 that would have been worth a maximum of $20 million.
Any side that claims Bradford off waivers will inherit the 30-year-old’s Cardinals contract, and that is according to his deal.
A breakdown of Bradford’s passes through three games shows he lost the ball quite quickly and also easily.
And apart from that, he threw short even though he was barely under duress.
The former Heisman Trophy winner made a start in the Cardinals’ first three games so far during the 2018/19 season.
But after losing the opening two and throwing two interceptions in the third match, he lost his starting shirt.
And after which Cardinals decided to replace him with rookie, Josh Rosen at the end of the loss against Chicago.
Bradford completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 400 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.
Cardinals save $1,562,500 following Bradford in-activeness
And that was his record in his nearly three outings as an Arizona player (2-6).
But he has remained inactive since Week four which cost him and thus saved the Cardinals the sum of $1,562,500.
Bradford who tore his left ACL in 2013 and ’14 came into this season on the back of another knee injury.
He aggravated the knee in Week one last season with the Minnesota Vikings while missing the next three weeks.
And after which he could only make a return in Week five but the coach pulled him off before halftime.
Bradford missed the rest of the season while also ending it on injured reserve.
