And the Red Devils have hope of snatching the teenage talent from the Cottagers with his contract talks stalling.

Sessegnon has struggled for game time under Claudio Ranieri at Craven Cottage.

The 18-year-old’s ability and potential is unquestioned but the Fulham boss does not consider him Premier League ready at present.

Sessegnon came on for the final nine minutes of yesterday’s 3-0 defeat at home to United.

And the versatile left-winger’s future is up in the air as we edge nearer to the summer transfer window.

Fulham have managed to hold onto their star prodigy up to now, but a lack of consistent action will leave Sessegnon frustrated.

Relegation is a real possibility for the Cottagers, who have failed to kick on from their promotion via the Championship play-offs last season.

Despite some big money spending, Fulham have flopped back in the top flight, and they may look to sell Sessegnon to help balance the books if they go back down.

“Discussions are not going well between the player and the club”

The youngster currently has just 18 months left to run on his contract, although Fulham are believed to have the option to trigger a two-year extension.

Talks have been held to tie Sessegnon, previously watched by Tottenham, down on a more lucrative deal.

But according to the Sunday Express, discussions are not going well between the player and the club.

And Manchester United are said to be aware of the case as they keep tabs on his situation.

Sessegnon is reluctant to stay at Fulham if they do drop back into the Championship.

And as he stalls over a new deal, United are considering making their move for the summer.

The Sunday Express add Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are ready to pay £50m for Sessegnon, who can play anywhere down the left side of the field.

The England Under-21 international’s versatility and potential makes him an attractive prospect for the Red Devils.

He has still managed two goals and five assists in 23 Premier League games, including just 16 starts.

Fans are calling for the teenager to start and Fulham go to London rivals West Ham next on Friday, February 22.
